Alexis Plunkett is charged with several felonies and misdemeanors for allegedly allowing inmates to use a cell phone.

A Las Vegas defense lawyer is now a defendant. Alexis Plunkett faces multiple felonies and misdemeanors for allegedly allowing inmates to use a cell phone while visiting them in jail.
Plunkett, who is due in court on Tuesday, is charged with allowing a client of hers - and another inmate - to use a cellphone.
The inmates are also charged in the case.

Plunkett, who has been a member of the Nevada Bar since September, 2009, has never had disciplinary action taken against her.

Her lawyer has filed papers arguing her use of the cell phone was appropriate and in accordance with jail rules.
Plunkett's client, Andrew Arevalo, was shot in the face while a prisoner at the High Desert State Prison in 2014. He is suing the state over the incident in which another prisoner was shot and killed while handcuffed.
