Las Vegas Economy: Good Times Ahead, Says Analyst
The city survived the recession and the economy is growing, Jeremy Aguero told the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance's Perspective event.

Don't be afraid of the growing economy. says Jeremy Aguero, principal analyst for Applied Analytics. He was speaking to the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance's annual Perspective event. He said the city has made it through the recession and the economy is growing again.
"We cannot fear our prosperity as a community," he told the nearly 500 people who gathered for his talk.
"Our community won't be judged by our ability to survive a recession but by our ability to sustain our community."

He pointed to construction - the number one growing sector in the valley - and the potential economic impact of pro sports.
"What we're building is bringing people for special events," he said.

Nevada, he said, is the third-fasted growing state in employment growth.
Vegas, he added, is becoming significantly more diverse and younger with a higher median income.
While many of the indicators, he said, echoed the build-up before things crashed during the recession, the growth now is more controlled and sustainable than it was then.
