Las Vegas Homicide: Suspect In Woman's Stabbing Is Probation Officer, Youth Football Coach

Police believe that Steve Miller stabbed the woman he was living with before turning the knife on himself.

The man who police believe stabbed his fiancee, killing her, and then stabbed himself, is a veteran probation officer with Clark County who also coached youth football. Steve Miller is at University Medical Center recovering from his wounds.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded to the Bonanza Park Studio apartments just before noon on Sunday. A woman had called 9-1-1 after entering the apartment and discovering the bodies on the floor of the apartment.

The woman - whose name has not been released - had multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to UMC where she died.

The man - identified as Miller - had cuts to his hands and neck.

A butcher knife was recovered.

The Review-Journal reported that Miller coached for the Green Machine Camp youth football camp.
