Las Vegas Shooting: Victims' Fund Will Be Overseen By Lawyer Kenneth Feinberg
Feinberg oversaw similar funds after September 11, the Boston Marathon attack, and the shooting at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando.

The lawyer who oversaw the victims compensation funds after the September 11 attacks, the Boston Marathon attack, and the attack on the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando will do the same for the victims of the October 1 attack in Las Vegas. Clark County officials announced Tuesday that Kenneth Feinberg has agreed to take the job.
The attack by Stephen Paddock left 58 dead and nearly 500 injured.
Beginning the next morning, more than 84,000 people and businesses have donated more than $10.4 million to the Las Vegas Victims' Fund. The money raised so far pales to the amount raised for previous funds overseen by Feinberg.
On September 11, 2,880 people were killed and more than $7 billion was raised. In Boston, where four were killed and more than 200 injured, the fund raised more than $60 million. In Orlando, where 49 people were killed and 68 injured, $29 million was raised.
Fundraising for Vegas continues.
"Lessons learned from previous efforts highlight the need to establish a process that ensures the direct distribution of the funds collected to the victims and victims' families," the county said in a release.
