Las Vegas Veteran Honored for #StillServing Other Veterans

North Las Vegas veteran Richard Marshall is being honored for dedication to country and community in the VFW #StillServing campaign. The national Veterans of Foreign Wars #StillServing campaign recognizes veterans who continue to serve in their community after the military.

A Vietnam veteran, Marshall now dedicates his time to helping veterans as his post’s VA benefits service because he, too, was helped by the VFW when he was struggling. After returning from Vietnam, he had acute PTSD and was in his words, “drinking, drugging and going ever in the wrong direction.” He was approached by a VFW service officer in Idaho who helped him get into the VA PTSD program. In seeing the life changes it made in himself, he vowed to help as many veterans as he could so they would not have to go through the tragedies he had.
