Las Vegas Victims' Fund: How To Help Those Affected By Country's Deadliest Mass Shooting

People across the country have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to help victims and their families.

LAS VEGAS, NV — Local officials have launched a fund to aid survivors of the Las Vegas mass shooting and families of the victims. Clark County Commission Chair Steve Sisolak and Sheriff Joe Lombardo created a GoFundMe campaign to provide relief and financial support to those affected by the tragedy, now the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

In just five hours, more than 5,000 people have donated to the effort, raising more than $780,000 for victims and their families. In the wake of so much horror, donors are sharing their love and support for those affected.

"A donation is the least we can do as Americans," one donor wrote amid an outpouring of grief. "We always unite in tough times." Another supporter simply wrote, "I wish there was more I could do."

Sisolak, who said he pledged the first $10,000 to get the ball rolling, expressed gratitude for donors' generosity — and said help is still needed. "I'm overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the Las Vegas community & beyond," he tweeted. "We need more donations, every penny will be put to use."

Donations can be made online to the Las Vegas Victims' Fund.
