- A Las Vegas man accused of setting fire to multiple cars in the valley was upset that his girlfriend recently had their dog euthanized, according to an arrest report. 52-year-old Juan Enrique Lopez was arrested in connection with vehicle fires originating at two houses near Warm Springs Road and Eastern Avenue. Lopez and his girlfriend reportedly had a history of domestic violence, and the two had lived separately for about three years. His bail was set at $50,000 under conditions of no contact with the victim and "staying out of trouble," according to court records. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
- Britney Spears won a major legal battle this week after Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny agreed that the ending of her conservatorship is long overdue. Las Vegas insiders wasted little time in spinning out rumors and rumblings regarding whether the 39-year-old might return for another casino residency. The pop star launched her first Las Vegas casino residency in 2013 at Caesars Entertainment's Planet Hollywood. "Britney: Piece of Me" was initially slated to run for two years, but high demand resulted in the show being extended through 2017. (Casino.Org News)
- At 7 a.m. on Friday, the Las Vegas community gathered at the Clark County Government Center to mark the passing of four years since the deadly Oct. 1 concert shooting. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
