McCarran International Airport Has Record Month

April saw more than four million people fly in and out of the airport. It was the busiest April ever.

If you were flying in or out of McCarran International Airport last month and it seemed busier than usual - it's because it was. Data released on Wednesday says there were 4,062,190 people flying in and out in April, making it the busiest April for them ever.

It was a 3,8 percent increase over the previous April.

Most of the passengers - 3,675,995 - were on domestic flights.

Southwest, United, and Spirit all saw increases in how many passengers they carried while Delta and American both saw decreases.

Southwest continued to be the airport's busiest carrier with 1,503,260 passengers, far ahead of second place American, which carried 402,197 passengers.

Spirit saw the biggest percentage increase. They carried 276,484 passengers, an 8.8 percent increase over April 2016.
