The changes include:
- Allowing dispensaries to have an employee designated to oversee operations be on call as opposed to being onsite;
- Allowing shops to sell until 3 a.m. as opposed to the current cut-off of midnight;
- Allowing more items to be sold;
- Changing the annual $75,000 fee to a one-time $75,000 fee when they first go into business;
- Loosening disposal requirements.
The city is making adjustments to the medical marijuana regulations against the backdrop of waiting for the state to determine the rules to govern recreational marijuana, which was approved by voters last November and went into effect in January.
