Merryhill Elementary School Students Host International Night

Students and members of the community celebrated cultures around the world with music, dance and food at the school's fourth annual event

Students at Merryhill Elementary School on Durango Drive in Las Vegas recently hosted their fourth annual International Night and celebrated the cultures and traditions of countries across the globe. More than 300 people attended the event, where parents, teachers and students displayed booths representing 22 countries. The displays featured food, music, dance, cultural attire, interactive activities and more. In addition, presentations included African drumming, a Viking ship provided by Sons of Norway Vegas Vikings, and student performances of folk dance and Spanish songs. Throughout the evening, students had passports stamped as they visited and learned from the various countries’ booths.
