Merryhill Elementary School Students Host Wellness Fair

Students hosted the wellness fair to raise funds and awareness for childhood illnesses.

Students at Merryhill Elementary School on Durango Drive in Las Vegas recently hosted their first-ever Family Fun and Wellness Fair and raised more than $1,000 for organizations that participated in the event. The fair raised awareness for childhood illnesses and provided a forum for organizations to share information with the Las Vegas community. Organizations including the Arthritis Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Make-A-Wish® Foundation, the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Nevada PEP had booths at the event, as well as doctors, attorneys, financial planners and other key resources for families. Leading up to the event, students read books to learn about many of the illnesses represented by the organizations.

More than 150 people attended the event, including Merryhill Elementary School students and their families, as well as community members. The fair also featured food trucks, face painting, games, crafts and a photobooth.
