Merryhill Preschoolers Donate More Than 2,000 Items to Nonprofit

Students from Four Merryhill Preschools in Las Vegas Join Forces to Donate More Than 2,000 Food Items & Toiletries to Ronald McDonald House

On July 23, school-age students from Merryhill Preschool on Grand Teton Drive in Las Vegas delivered a donation of more than 2,000 food items, paper goods and toiletries they collected throughout the month – in conjunction with students at Merryhill Preschools on Alta Drive, Snow Trail and Durango Drive – to a representative from Ronald McDonald House of Greater Las Vegas. The food donations will be used to pack lunch bags for families with hospitalized children served by the organization as part of its Lunch is On Us program, which delivers 740 lunches per week to children staying at University Medical Center and Sunrise Children’s Hospital. Students also decorated lunch bags and created cards with words of encouragement. Through this experience, students learned the importance of supporting other children in need.

Ronald McDonald House of Greater Las Vegas provides a supportive “home-away-from-home” for families and children who are receiving inpatient or outpatient medical treatment at local hospitals. Since opening in July 1998, they have served more than 4,600 families for more than 56,500 nights.
