🌱Nonprofit To Help With Mortgages + 'The Highline' Breaks Ground

Here are the top stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. A non-profit organization is offering to help catch families or individuals up on up to 6 months of mortgage back payments or future payments. Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) said $300,000 of aid is available. Housing Director Rumaldo Chaidez, said COVID-19 relief dollars that were assigned to the city of North Las Vegas has trickled down to non-profit organizations that can now disperse the money to the community. To qualify you must be a North Las Vegas resident, have had or are still dealing with a COVID-19 hardship, and must meet 80% median income guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.   2. A new luxury apartment complex is coming to the Las Vegas valley. The new development is called "The Highline." The project is set to include 294 family-friendly and pet-friendly units, 71 for-sale townhomes, and 25,000 square feet of retail space. The Highline is scheduled to be finished by winter 2023.   3. Crews have installed "speed cushions" in an east Las Vegas valley neighborhood for a trial program to see how they affect traffic in residential areas. (News3LV)
  4. The city of Las Vegas will offer free on-street meter parking downtown this Saturday, Nov. 27th to encourage people to shop locally on Small Business Saturday. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
  5. North Las Vegas schools are now feeling the effect of the labor shortage. The Mountain West News Bureau's Nate Hegyi visited a North Las Vegas school and reports on what he saw. (KNPR)
