  1. A Las Vegas police officer was injured in a crash with a semi-truck on Wednesday afternoon. The collision occurred at the intersection of West Craig Road and North Jones Boulevard, and the northbound lanes of both roads were closed while the crash was cleared. The officer was transported to the University Medical Center with minor injuries. (KTNV Las Vegas)
  2. Jarick Jermel Willis, 32, is facing charges of child abuse and/or neglect, attempted murder, and domestic battery for throwing a 5-year-old girl from a third-floor balcony near Boulder Highway and Desert Inn Road on Sunday. The child was reported unconscious and taken to Sunrise Hospital after the incident. When questioned by police, Willis claimed the young girl was "full of bad spirits." The child's mother, who was dating the suspect and practices African Spirituality with him, said Willis essentially "believed [her daughter] was a demon." (FOX5 Las Vegas)
  3. Las Vegas celebrated Mexican Independence Day and Hispanic Heritage Month with unified marquee messaging on the Las Vegas Strip last night. (News3LV)
  4. Republican Sam Peters kicked off his bid for Nevada's 4th Congressional District at a Las Vegas rally on Tuesday. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
