For Our Future Nevada Congratulates Senator Catherine Cortez Masto

Community organizing operation engaged with over 1 million Nevadans to turn out for progressive candidates

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – For Our Future Nevada (FOFNV) congratulates Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, U.S. Representatives Dina Titus (NV-01), Susie Lee (NV-03) and Steven Horsford (NV-04), and the victorious progressive candidates FOFNV supported up and down the ballot through grassroots organizing and voter outreach efforts.

Since helping to deliver Nevada for Joe Biden in 2020, FOFNV has knocked over 212,000 doors, made more than 1.07 million phone calls, and sent nearly 1.9 million text messages to drive voters to turn out this November, which helped secure multiple victories in the 2022 midterm elections.
Gariety Pruitt, the State Director of For Our Future Nevada issued the following statement.

“For Our Future Nevada is proud to be part of the historic effort to send Catherine Cortez Masto, the nation’s first Latina U.S. Senator, back to Congress – and to elect progressives up and down the ballot. Our grassroots organizing program sought to mobilize working Nevadans and their families to turn out and vote for a better future, and we succeeded. “Senator Cortez Masto has spent the past six years fighting to secure critical resources for our state, lowering healthcare costs, growing our clean energy economy, and protecting the rights and welfare of working families. We look forward to six more years of her representation and leadership in the United States Senate.

“In addition to this U.S. Senate seat, we are proud to have helped re-elect all three members of Southern Nevada’s Democratic Congressional Delegation and limit the Republican Party’s power in the House of Representatives. Representatives Titus, Lee and Horsford have proven themselves as champions for working families by taking on Big Oil, Big Pharma, and other corporate interests to bring down expenses for everyday Nevadans, and will continue to cut costs and deliver results for the Silver State.

“While we are disappointed Nevada will not have the benefit of Governor Sisolak’s leadership for another four years, we remain steadfast in our commitment to Nevada’s working families. Governor Sisolak began groundbreaking work to bring down housing costs, improve access to affordable childcare, and protect Nevada from the worst impacts of climate change. Governor-elect Lombardo ran on vague promises to address issues like these that are important to working Nevadans, and we are fully prepared to hold him accountable if he fails to do so.

“With the election of Cisco Aguilar to the office of Secretary of State, sanity and democracy have prevailed over conspiracy theories and authoritarianism. From the outset, Aguilar’s opponent promised to roll back voting rights and hand our state to Donald Trump on a silver platter in 2024 regardless of the results. Under Aguilar’s leadership, Nevadans will rest easy knowing that their votes count in the Silver State’s free and fair elections. We are also delighted that Attorney General Aaron Ford and Treasurer Zach Conine will return to Carson City alongside Secretary of State-elect Aguilar. The strong leadership of these Democratic constitutional officers will be needed to keep Nevada moving forward.

“Additionally, For Our Future was able to help retain pro-working family majorities in the Nevada Legislature. We’re eager to start working with our progressive champions during the 2023 legislative session to improve housing affordability, reduce costs for prescription drugs, fight climate change and more.”

Throughout the cycle, FOFNV’s program was informed by its Feedback Loop. In 2018, For Our Future built and launched the Feedback Loop – a groundbreaking data-driven tool – to measure in-depth field conversations and understand what issues drive voter turnout and community action.
