Here are the top stories today in Las Vegas:
- Clark County commissioners next week will discuss the latest step for building a tunnel transit system underneath the Las Vegas resort corridor. The Boring Company would construct the transportation system. The full system is intended to connect the existing loop at the Las Vegas Convention Center with the Las Vegas Strip, downtown Las Vegas, and other points of interest, like Allegiant Stadium, the Orleans, and the Palms.
- For Domestic Violence Awareness Month, LVMPD wants to bring awareness of the signs to look for in an abusive relationship and the resources available for victims. Metro Sergeant Miguel Garcia says small domestic arguments can quickly turn violent. He says officers now have a technology to quickly connect victims to resources. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
- Officials of several employee unions say they haven't had any negotiations with the metro Las Vegas school district since its board voted to generally require that district employees be vaccinated against COVID-19. (KDWN)
- Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Las Vegas on Monday, her office announced. Additional details regarding her trip will be forthcoming, the announcement said. (Las Vegas Sun)
- Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas announced that it will again host its Rock of Horror Halloweekend celebration. Festivities are being held Oct. 28-31. (FOX5 Las Vegas)
