Raiders Close On Property, One Step Closer To Vegas
The team closed on the purchase of 62.5 acres just west of Mandalay Bay resort, making the Vegas Raiders one step closer to being real.

The Oakland Raiders are one major step closer to being the Vegas Raiders. The team Monday closed on the purchase of 62.5 acres just west of the Mandalay Bay resort. The team is paying $77.5 million for the four parcels bordered by Russell Road, Hacienda Avenue, Polaris Avenue and Dean Martin Drive.
The news was first reported by Clark County Commissioner Steve Sisolak on his Twitter account.

The stadium — which is expected to open for the 2020 season — is estimated to cost $1.9 billion. Of that, $750 million is estimated to be coming from an increase in the hotel room tax.
