Students Host Third Annual International Night

Students and the community celebrated cultures around the globe through song, dance and food at the school's annual International Night

Students at Merryhill Elementary School on Durango Drive in Las Vegas recently hosted their third annual International Night and celebrated the cultures and customs of countries around the globe. More than 300 people attended the event, where parents, teachers and students displayed booths representing 22 countries through song, dance, food and more. Presentations included performances from a Hawaiian musician and hula dancer, a demonstration from a jiu jitsu group, a salsa dancing performance, African drumming and a Viking ship on display from the Sons of Norway. Throughout the evening, students had passports stamped as they visited and learned from the various countries’ booths.
