Good day, neighbors! It's me again, Rachel Kilimnik, your host of the Las Vegas Daily.

Here are the top stories in Las Vegas today:
- Tribal lawyers are asking a U.S. judge in Nevada to reconsider her earlier refusal to block digging at a proposed lithium mine near the Oregon line where they say newly uncovered evidence proves it was the sacred site of a massacre of dozens of Native Americans in 1865. Judge Miranda Du says she will hold a full evidentiary hearing on the merits of the case before any construction begins about 230 miles (370 kilometers) northeast of Reno. However, in recent months, she has denied requests by environmentalists and tribes to prevent the Bureau of Land Management in the meantime from digging trenches for an archaeological survey that Lithium Nevada must complete before moving forward. Spokespersons for the bureau and Nevada Lithium said Tuesday they had no immediate comment. (Las Vegas Sun)
- Las Vegas police say officers fatally shot a man who fired at them and that a woman who was with the man also was wounded. The Monday night incident began when officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance involving the man and the woman. The man fired at the officers as they got out of their vehicle. The officers returned fire and the man began running away and was shot "after a short foot pursuit" when the officers fired again, the police statement said. (Elko Daily Free Press)
- The mother of the 21-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on Monday night in Spring Valley, convinced the suspect to return to the scene. FOX5 Las Vegas)
- The Las Vegas Strip turned pink over the weekend in honor of breast cancer awareness. (KTNV Las Vegas)
- The Nevada Highway Patrol reports a fatal rollover crash occurred on Tuesday morning north of the Las Vegas valley. (KTNV Las Vegas)
