Vegas Downtown Loop Shuttle Service Launches

The buses are operating as a six-month pilot program.

Be on the lookout for pink shuttle buses downtown. Starting Tuesday, a free shuttle service that moves visitors around downtown Las Vegas launched. And they are free.

The so-called Downtown Loop runs seven days a week for nine hours a day.

Mayor Goodman was there. As was her husband, the former Mayor Goodman.

The current mayor opened a bottle of champagne against one of the buses.

The plan is to have the colorful shuttles - whose colors are meant to echo the city's new logo - make stops at the Las Vegas North Premium Outlets, Arts District, the Bonneville Transit Center, Pawn Plaza, Fremont East Entertainment District, the Mob Museum and the Fremont Street Experience. The two buses hold 19 passengers each and should help tourists beat some of the sweltering summer heat.

It's a six-month pilot program and will be operated by Keolis Transportation under contract with the RTC.
