🌱 Volunteers Help Homeless + Welcome Sign Hits 9 Years Of Solar

Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. A group of Las Vegas volunteers, called The Promise, is delivering water and winter gear to the homeless on the weekends. Volunteers also bring supplies to the Community of Hope's pop-up pantry and work with people on restoring their IDs and Social Security cards. The group accepts donations of supplies or clothes to be used in their outreach. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  2. The well-known Welcome to Las Vegas sign reached its ninth anniversary since converting to solar power in January 2014. The conversion was part of the county's efforts to move towards a sustainable future. The solar panels running the sign on a daily basis are in a cluster nearby. (News3LV)
  3. A group of Las Vegas protestors took to the streets in front of The Mirage on Sunday to protest two recent executions in Iran. The group hopes to bring awareness and encourage world leaders to take action against Iran and the country's recent executions of protestors. (News3LV)

Starting Monday morning, construction crews will be carrying out a new $1 million project on Black Rock Road Bridge.   • Is your New Year's resolution to exercise more? If so, you're in the right place! Las Vegas was recently ranked among the best cities for having an active lifestyle according to WalletHub.
