Community briefs: Allegiant Stadium gala supports Nevadans affected by autism and their families (lasvegassun.com) — North Las Vegas families can kick off Halloween early at a free, glow-in-the-dark bike ride Oct. 2 at Craig Ranch Regional Park, with costumes, decorated bikes and prizes encouraged. The evening includes food trucks, safety experts, and a family-friendly loop around the park, but remember that motorized vehicles and e-bikes aren't allowed inside city parks.
   

2. Henderson, North Las Vegas police conclude traffic enforcement campaigns targeting distracted driving (fox5vegas.com) — North Las Vegas drivers just saw an intensive traffic enforcement push wrap up, with police issuing 167 citations, 63 warnings and making three arrests during an August Joining Forces campaign. Officers focused on distracted and impaired driving, speeding, seat belt use and child restraints, while also educating two dozen drivers and drafting a DUI blood search warrant to support a recent arrest.
   

3. North Las Vegas man loses $10,000 in tools after storage unit break-in at Public Storage (ktnv.com) — A North Las Vegas senior says thieves broke into his indoor Public Storage unit and stole about $10,000 in tools he'd collected since his teens, leaving him worried about paying bills on a fixed income. After filing a police report and contacting insurance, he's sharing his experience as reporters outline practical steps residents can take to better protect their own storage units.
   

4. Safekey sees enrollment changes with new CCSD start times in effect (reviewjournal.com) — Safekey programs in North Las Vegas are seeing mostly steady enrollment, with modest gains at several of the 21 schools where the city operates before- and after-school care. Across the valley, new Clark County School District bell times are pushing more families to rely on Safekey, especially where start times shifted significantly, helping parents cover work hours while keeping kids supervised and engaged.
   

5. Boring Company expansion pushes Vegas Loop toward Paradise Road (fox5vegas.com) — Transit changes that could affect your trips from North Las Vegas to the Strip are moving forward, as the Vegas Loop prepares to extend tunnels toward Paradise Road, Virgin Hotels and Tropicana near UNLV. The Boring Company hopes to open new stations before November's Formula 1 race and eventually link the system to Harry Reid International Airport, though no final airport timeline is set.
