Here are the top three stories in Reno today:

  1. The Reno Police Department made 12 arrests during Hot August Nights. Five of the arrests were for driving under the influence. The department issued 23 traffic citations during the event. The department made 10 arrests last year during the event but had a higher number of traffic citations at 41. (KOLO)
  2. The search for a missing man in the Truckee River has been called off. Reno Fire Department crews searched for the man from Dorostkar Park at Mayberry Drive. The 35-year-old man was not wearing a personal flotation device while on an innertube. The search was called off around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. (KOLO)
  3. The City of Reno is considering a project that would create a city-based blockchain framework. The project would reportedly help the city develop its documenting cycles while ensuring its records are coordinated. The city currently relies on boxes of old records kept in storerooms across the city. The project would allow the documents to be readily accessible while maintaining their original form.
