1. The Road Ahead: Pedestrian and bicycle travel improvements slated for downtown Reno (kolotv.com) — Downtown Reno residents will soon see major changes on Virginia and Vine Streets as the Biggest Little Bike Network adds protected bike lanes and safer pedestrian crossings starting September 21. The project aims to improve connections between the university and downtown, boost access to local businesses, and give people more options for getting around the city through spring 2027.

2. Nevada State Fairgrounds undergoing more than $10 million in infrastructure upgrades (thisisreno.com) — More than $10 million in upgrades are underway at the Nevada State Fairgrounds in Reno, including new pavement, drainage, septic, and sewage systems that also support the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center and its role as a large-animal evacuation site. State agencies, the Reno Rodeo Association, and the Nevada Western Heritage Center Alliance are coordinating long-term improvements funded partly by federal recovery dollars.

3. Hawk Fire Near Reno, Nevada: Containment Increases as Homes Destroyed (news-usa.today) — A major wildfire burning along I‑80 near Reno has destroyed dozens of homes regionally but is now 85% contained near the city, allowing evacuation orders to be scaled back to about 5,000 residents. Fire crews successfully protected Somersett in northwest Reno, while officials continue monitoring injuries and damage as other large fires rage in Texas and Washington.

4. Nevada gas prices jump 18 cents amid high crude oil prices (thisisreno.com) — Reno drivers are now paying about $5.56 per gallon for regular gas, well above Nevada's $5.19 statewide average and the national price. 5. This Nevada Hatchery South Of Reno Lets Kids Watch Thousands Of Trout For Free (takingthekids.com) — Families in Reno can make an easy weekday day trip about an hour south on U.S. 395 to the Lahontan National Fish Hatchery Complex near Gardnerville, where kids can watch thousands of trout for free.
