Reno City Council to consider zoning, street abandonment proposals (thisisreno.com) — Reno City Council is set to weigh key land-use changes, including a historic landmark designation for the original Reno arch and a street abandonment near Newport Lane and Collins Circle. Members will also consider zoning changes for the Codexa Residence area, a veteran fitness grant, and revisions to the city's 2026–27 budget.

Reno's new signal plan targets dangers pedestrians face at downtown intersections (mynews4.com) — Downtown Reno pedestrians will soon get a three- to seven-second head start at select intersections, as the city rolls out new signal timing to reduce crashes with turning vehicles. Officials say these leading pedestrian intervals can significantly improve visibility and safety, and they're already evaluating more downtown locations for the low-cost change.

Visit Reno Tahoe to donate more than $90,000 for wildfire relief (thisisreno.com) — Visit Reno Tahoe is donating more than $90,000 in concert proceeds to the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada to support wildfire relief. The check will be presented at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, where officials will outline how the funds will aid shelter, food, and recovery services for residents affected by recent fires.

Over 8,000 Years Of Lakeside Life Unfold At This Small Nevada Visitor Museum (takingthekids.com) — If you're looking for a meaningful day trip from Reno, the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe's free museum in Nixon offers deep history, striking beadwork, and practical lake permits about an hour's drive north. Exhibits explore ancient Lake Lahontan, thousands of years of Paiute life, unique local fish, and modern tribal concerns, making it an affordable, educational outing for families and retirees.
