Here are the top 3 stories today in Reno:

  1. A woman was apparently burned by her former boyfriend and is on the search for justice. Around three months ago, Valerie Barrera was allegedly doused in a flammable liquid and set on fire by former boyfriend Jeremy Marcel Chatman. According to reports, she was found severely burned sitting in a puddle in a northeast Reno apartment complex. Since then, Barrera has come forward to state that there was another person involved in the crime. Anyone with information should please reach out to the authorities. (KOLO)
  2. This spring season, the West Street Plaza in downtown Reno is going to be getting a makeover! According to the city of Reno's urban forester Matt Basile, "the goal [is] to make it more vibrant, colorful and allow for better viewing of the Truckee River." The project is expected to be finished by mid-May and cost the city around $10,000. (KRNV)
  3. Are you on the search for a new home? If so, Patch and Redfin have got you covered! Together, they have compiled a list of five new properties for sale in the Reno area. With all the prep work done, searching for your new home should be a breeze. For the full list of properties and details, please check out their article. (Reno Patch)
