Join Portraits of Hope at Reno Public Market from 10am, Saturday, May 2nd to 10am, Sunday, May 3rd at the Reno Public Market for a free, hands-on art session open to ages 8 and up. Your work will become part of America Shines on The National Mall — a national initiative honoring the U.S. 250th anniversary, culminating in a 4-week exhibition at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Together, 20,000 children plus many adults across all 50 states will hand-paint 3,000 floating artworks celebrating America's youth. Sessions are 2 hours. Come create history!
Tied to the 250th year of the United States, Portraits of Hope with Freedom 250 presents "America Shines on The National Mall," a once-in-a-lifetime, unifying, national initiative that will culminate in a first-of-its-kind visual extravaganza at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on The National Mall. As part of the program, 20,000 children in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and tribal territories will hand-paint approximately 3,000 inter-related POH floating artworks that will honor America's youth for a 4-week exhibition.
