City Of Reno: City Of Reno To Commemorate 9/11 20th Anniversary

On Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 9:11 a.m., the Reno Fire Department (RFD) and Reno Police Department (RPD) will gather on the Reno City Plaza, next to the BELIEVE sculpture, to raise a flag in honor of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

As the flag raises, Paul Lenz, Principal Trumpet Player of the Reno Philharmonic, will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Immediately following, the RFD Honor Guard will perform a traditional bell-ringing ceremony to signify the End of Watch.

The City of Reno will also set up a temporary Never Forget memorial, which will be on display until 11 a.m. The media and the public are invited to visit the Plaza to pay their respects, take photographs, and honor those who have fallen.
