Here are the top three stories in Reno today:

  1. The City of Reno has announced plans to create a heat map of the city. It will take about a year for the map to be created. The map will be used to locate the city's hottest locations. Heat can be affected by a variety of conditions such as tree cover, green space, and population density. (KUNR Public Radio)
  2. Reno Municipal Court highlighted its Community Court program during the National Association of Drug Court Progressions conference. The national panel discussion was held in Nashville yesterday. Reno and Las Vegas Community Courts were the only courts from Nevada to be asked to present during the conference. (Press Release Desk)
  3. The Reno Community Court is testing a new program - treatment readiness group therapy. The program is meant to prepare individuals to begin drug and mental health treatment. The program was started a few weeks ago and the early results are promising. (Reno Gazette Journal)
