Here are the top three stories today in Reno:

  1. In a Friday statement, the Washoe County Health District announced plans to provide a COVID-19 vaccine for children under the age of five. Health officials are reportedly expecting a vaccine shipment next week. Vaccinations will be administered at Community Vaccine Clinics as well as the Washoe County Health District's main clinic in Reno. (FoxReno.com)
  2. Reno mayoral candidate Jenny Brekhus has conceded to Hillary Schieve and Eddie Lorton, the race's current frontrunners. Brekhus will continue to serve on Reno's city council in Ward 1 through 2024. The Washoe County Registrar's Office has until today (Saturday, Jun. 18) to count the results of mail-in ballots. (KRNV)
  3. A man has been hospitalized after being shot in downtown Reno on Thursday night. The Reno Police Department does not believe the shooting was robbery-related, nor that there is an active threat to the public at this time. The investigation is ongoing. (KRNV)
