Here are the top three stories today in Reno:
- A Reno business owner is frustrated after her business's Instagram account was hacked. Erica Williams, the owner of Curbside Baking Company, has been trying to regain access to her hacked account since last month. Since Williams solely relies on Instagram's platform for her business, she has been forced to shut down operations until the account is restored. Williams is one of a few Reno business owners who have been hacked recently. (My News 4)
- Some activists suspect that Reno recently removed all the grass from city plaza and replaced it with native plants and wood chips to push the homeless out. According to Parks manager Matt Brezina, the grass required a lot of time and resources to maintain, and people were purposefully causing damage to the sprinkler heads when they watered overnight. However, homeless advocate Jessica Castro says removing the grass at city plaza is the latest attempt to move the homeless. (KRNV)
- Reno residents can take advantage of Free Dump Days at the Lockwood Landfill. From Apr. 22 through May 1, Waste Management is providing residents with a way to dispose of bulky items safely and properly, at no cost. Acceptable items for disposal include stoves, dishwashers, sofas, mattresses, and more. (KOLO)
