- Washoe County health officials have stated that the next few months are going to be difficult due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. Kevin Dick, the district health officer, wants to make people aware that the omicron variant is now the most predominant COVID strain in the county's cases. Hospital capacities are also continuing to rise. (ThisisReno)
- The Regional Emergency Medical Service Authority (REMSA Health) and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) are partnering up to expedite emergency responses. This is to help support the growing population in northern Nevada. Now, REMSA and TMFPD are working together on dispatching calls. (KOLO)
- According to Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN), there has been a dramatic increase in startups relocating to the Reno-Sparks area. Remote work played a major role within the past two years to contribute to this increase. These startups have created over 400 jobs for people in the region. (KUNR Public Radio)
