Here are the top 3 stories today in Reno:
- This past Wednesday evening, a two-vehicle crash left one person with life-threatening injuries. The crash took place at Rio Wrangler Parkway and Western Skies Drive. Due to the incident, the parkway had to be closed immediately. Since then, the parkway has been reopened; however, investigators are still searching for what caused the crash. According to reports, it was not because of issues of impairment or speed. (KOLO)
- After a two-year break, the Blue Tie Ball is back in Reno, and the Reno community is excited about the celebration. Nevada Athletics will be hosting the ball on Apr. 22 at The Peppermill Resort and Casino. It is "a black-tie affair [that] benefits the scholarships of Wolf Pack student-athletes." This year's theme is "Under the Sea." (Nevada Today)
- The Youth Art Festival is taking place in Reno this weekend. It's a fun and artistic event filled with many great activities for all ages, so make sure to bring the entire family! Some of the activities include art stations, free books, and self-guided tours. People will also have the opportunity to participate in the creation of a community mural.
