Here are the top stories today in Reno:
- A local aerospace company is counting down for take-off with drone deliveries in the Reno area. Flirtey, a drone service company, and Mesa Airlines are hoping this will boost Reno's economic growth. Matthew Sweeny, founder and CEO of Flirtey, is in partnership with Mesa Airlines, who operates airplanes under the United and American Airlines brand. He says Flirtey and Mesa have been testing the delivery service from across Reno from places like 7-Eleven. (KTVN)
- The Reno Police Department asks for the public's help identifying suspects who police say robbed Nevada and California stores of more than $2 million in merchandise. Police said three to four women committed the robberies at Meadowood Mall and Summit Sierra Mall on three days in September and October. Police believe they also committed robberies in Las Vegas and in California. (KOLO)
- The Marketing and Communications Department at the University of Nevada, Reno introduced a diversity, equity, and inclusion guide, requiring staff to refrain from using certain language such as "Native Nevadan," as the term may be offensive to the indigenous population.(KRCRTV.COM)
- The City of Reno will be presenting updated redistricting maps on Tuesday during a public virtual meeting. Following the U.S. census every decade, the city is required to redraw the boundaries of its five wards so that they are largely equal in terms of population size. (KUNR Public Radio)
- According to the Reno Sparks Association of Realtors there was no change in the average cost to buy a single-family home between September and August - $530,000. (KTVN)
