Here are the top stories today in Reno:
- Nevada's oldest operating brewery is offering free shots and beers. This Thursday, the Washoe County Health District will be at Great Basin Brewing to administer free COVID-19 vaccinations and third booster shots to qualifying individuals from 4-6 p.m. Great Basin will provide a free pint of craft beer or a pint of Great Basin root beer to those who receive the vaccine. - The Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is bringing back its dementia-friendly nature walks. They're set to return on Tuesday, October 5, for the first time since the pandemic began. The walks are part of the Discover Your Parks program, which aims to get people outside exploring local parks. They give participants the chance to learn about plants at Idlewild Park and how they change based on the season. They are held every Tuesday at 10 AM - all you need to do is show up.
- The annual Great Italian Festival is turning downtown Reno into little Italy for the weekend. The festival starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 9 and wraps up on Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. (KRNV My News 4)
- A Reno robbery suspect lead police on a 40 mile, high-speed chase into Lyon County on Tuesday morning. (KRNV My News 4)
- Two Peppermill employees are recovering after a man allegedly attacked them with a knife and cut them Monday night. (KOLO)
