Here are the top three stories today in Reno:
- A new National Guard program aims to reduce stress and save lives for service members in Nevada. Purple Resolve is meant to help soldiers and airmen deal with stress, depression, and more after their deployments. Click here to learn more about the program from Major General Berry. (FoxReno.com)
- A house fire on Sunday afternoon destroyed one house and damaged another. The fire was started during a barbecue on Virginia Foothills Drive, but the two people that were home at the time were not injured. The area of the fire was blocked until 7 p.m. (KOLO)
- A firework accident that happened on Saturday morning just north of Reno sent two men to the hospital. One of them remains in critical condition after a firework struck him in the chest. Sheriff Darin Balaam reminded the community that fireworks are both dangerous and illegal to possess in Washoe County. (Reno Gazette Journal)
