Here are the top stories in Reno today:
- Making their commute to class in early Nov., hundreds of college students cross the railroad tracks and walk by newly pitched tents where the homeless in Reno have begun to stay. It's one of the newest encampments in the city, located along the railroad tracks that span Evans Avenue near the University of Nevada, Reno. (Reno Gazette Journal)
- The Reno Police Department responded to an incident on West Plumb Lane around 8:30 p.m. that led to an officer-involved shooting. The Washoe County Sheriff's office arrived shortly after, and they are now the leading investigating agency. West Plumb Lane was closed for several hours, as well as Hunter Lake Drive to Sharon Way. - A hearing officer recently ruled that Truckee Meadows Community College Professor Lars Jensen was insubordinate to his superiors at TMCC. (ThisisReno)
- Saturday was the first day of The Friends of Washoe County Library's book sale. It will be open every day through Sunday, Nov. 21 2021, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (KTVN)
