🌱 Infrastructure Bill For RNO + Shelters Looking For Volunteers

Welcome to the Reno Daily! This is your source for everything going on in Reno.

Welcome back, Reno! Let's get this Thursday started. Here's everything you need to know about what's happening around town today.

First, today's weather:

Plenty of sunshine, but cold. High: 55 Low: 31.

Here are the top stories today in Reno:

  1. Senator Rosen spoke to a crowd about the enhancements the infrastructure bill could bring to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The infrastructure, investment and jobs act will have major impacts on places like the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, bringing in more travelers to our area and thus more money to local businesses. Even though the Reno-Tahoe International Airport was recently named one of the best small airports in the U.S., they are in need of some upgrades, especially when it comes to parking. Airport officials say this problem will only get worse, as the industry bounces back after the pandemic. (KTVN)
  2. Shelters in Reno are dealing with capacity issues during this cold spell. The CARES Campus is doing their Share The Warmth Clothing Drive right now. You can donate cold-weather clothing like coats and gloves. They are also desperate for workers - another way you can help out those in need right now. (KTVN)
  3. The Reno-Sparks real estate market median home prices held steady for the fourth straight month - a notable shift from the first half of the year when median sales price saw steep increases every month. (Reno Gazette Journal)
  4. Reno Police are coordinating with Shasta County agencies to locate a missing Reno woman.(KOLO)
  5. The Washoe County School District board of trustees voted to approve the construction of a new elementary school in southeast Reno during its meeting on Tuesday afternoon. (KOLO)
