  1. A man was killed on New Year's Eve after being shot three times in front of his four-year-old son. Terrel Kemp was a 29-year-old father of three. His wife, Lashonda Cornelius, and the rest of his family are looking for justice. They are asking anyone with information about the shooter to please report it. (WATE 6 On Your Side)
  2. University of Nevada Press names JoAnne Banducci as their new director. Banducci has been acting as interim director since Mar. 2020. On Oct. 1, she was given the official title. Banducci began her tenure in 2009 as business manager. Since then, she has done so much to help with financial challenges. They are excited to see what she does next! (Nevada Today)
  3. Basin Street Properties, a commercial real estate firm, recently announced that GuidedChoice will soon relocate to downtown Reno. GuidedChoice is a digital retirement advisory that was founded in 1999. They work to leverage technology that provides a custom and transparent experience for their clients.   • The Nevada Humane Society is on the search for a new forever home for Smoke! Smoke is an older dog looking for lots of love, activity, and snuggles.   • The Discovery, an interactive science museum, has announced that it is going to be closed to the public this week. The museum has been dedicated to working very hard during the past two years of the pandemic and have recognized that their workers are in need of some well deserved rest.   • The Nevada City Farmers Market is excited to be back in business for the new year. They had taken a break during the holidays and cold weather, but are now ready to bring you everything you need!
