🌱 Mantle Appeals Reno Judge's Ruling + VP Harris In Reno On Friday

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Reno.

Hi all. It's me, Dominique-Noelle Rafael, your host of the Reno Daily — here to explain everything that's fit to print about what's happening in the community today.

First, today's weather:

Windy in the afternoon. High: 81 Low: 53.

📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Reno who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Reno Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories in Reno today:

  1. William Mantle, the Reno mayoral candidate, is appealing the decision to allow Jenny Brekhus to run for mayor to the Nevada Supreme Court. On May 2, Judge Connie Steinheimer ruled that Brekhus was allowed to run in 2022, contrary to Mantle's argument that because Brekhus' current term as councilwoman ends in 2024, she is ineligible to run for mayor. Mantle filed an appeal Tuesday and will be representing himself. (My News 4)
  2. This Friday morning in Reno, Vice President Kamala Harris will kick off the 90th annual United States Conference of Mayors. The conference, located at the Peppermill Resort Hotel, will run from Jun. 3 to Jun. 6 and brings mayors from across the country together. The attending mayors will discuss topics like public safety, city resources, climate change, affordable housing, and much more.

  3. Greenbrae Elementary's first-grade class hosted a lemonade stand yesterday as an end-of-school-year project. After learning about different businesses, what it means to have a business, and what a successful business looks like, the class chose to put together The Sweet Lemons lemonade stand. It has introduced the kids to teamwork in business and what it means to make a profit, among other valuable and fun lessons. (KOLO)
