Hey, Reno! Here's everything you need to know to get this Thursday started off right.

Here are the top stories in Reno today:

  1. Authorities have released more details on Tuesday's police chase from Reno to Lyon County.The suspect, 35-year-old Jose Delacruz was reported to have been involved in an assault with a deadly weapon case. Troopers say they joined the chase near I-80 east near McCarran Blvd. where the suspect was driving up to 110 miles per hour. Troopers also say the driver got out of the car and tried to carjack another car, but then got back in his original vehicle and started speeding south on SR 427. Delacruz was booked into Lyon County Jail on several charges, including stolen property, reckless endangerment and reckless driving. (KTVN)
  2. Reno is amongst the cities with the highest rent increases in the US. Reno's one-bedroom rent price increased 38.5 percent from this time last year, which was good for the eighth highest in the country. Reno's two-bedroom jump of 63 percent put it at number three, with an average of $2,353. Susy Vasquez, executive director of the Nevada State Apartment Association (NSAA), said it's a matter of supply and demand. (KRNV My News 4)
  3. The City of Reno is currently seeking public input on the potential creation of a new stormwater utility. A stormwater utility collects a fee from property owners to maintain or improve stormwater and flood reduction infrastructure (KOLO)
  4. The Washoe County Library System announced all library branch locations will be fully reopened on Monday, October 11. (KTVN)
  5. The Center, Every Student, Every Story's renaming to The Multicultural Center was unveiled at the Multicultural Center Welcome event on Thursday, Sept. 23. The Center's rebranding comes with increased collaboration with the Associated Students of the University of Nevada to cater to students at the University of Nevada, Reno. (UNR The Nevada Sagebrush)
