Here are the top 3 stories today in Reno:

  1. Detectives have begun to retrace the steps of a 23-year-old mother, Anna Scott, who was found dead in a burning car. This case is currently being investigated as a homicide. The Officials with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office stated that they are in the process of discovering what took place on the days leading up to her unfortunate death. The cause of death is still unknown. Anyone with information should contact the authorities. Secret Witness is offering a $2,500 reward for anyone who can provide information that leads to an arrest. (Reno Gazette Journal)
  2. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating an apparent fentanyl overdose case that allegedly took place this past Monday night at the Washoe County jail. Monday evening, Reno Fire's HAZMAT team and REMSA responded to the call for help at around 11:15 PM. After looking through the jail cell, authorities concluded that no evidence of drug substances was found. (KOLO)
  3. There is a new "Farm to Fork" Certification Program that teaches people about the processes of livestock production. This extension program is being offered at the University of Nevada, Reno. The courses are well-suited for beginner farmers and ranchers. Throughout the month of March, the program will provide information on livestock production and processing.
