- Marilyn Newton is the newest inductee to the Nevada Women's Fund Hall of Fame. Newton has been a newspaper photographer for a long time, and she helped blaze the trail for other female journalists in the Silver State. Newton spent 52 years of her life at Reno Gazette Journal as a photographer and still contributes photographs for Reno Rodeo, Reno Air Races, and Reno Balloon Races. (KOLO)
- The Reno Police Department is reminding everyone to please have a designated sober driver before heading out to drink. The dangers of drunk driving are real, and it affects more than just the person under the influence. Last Saturday, the police arrested five people for driving under the influence. Thankfully, no major incidents occurred. (KOLO)
