🌱 One Dead In Late Night Bar Shooting + Seven Arrested For Burglary

Here are the top three stories in Reno today:

  1. One person is dead and another is in police custody after a late night shooting. According to Sparks police, the shooting happened at Aguitas Bar and Grill on Prater Way. Officers were called to the scene around 12:30 a.m. on Friday. The police found a man with a gunshot wound who died at the scene, and identified and arrested the alleged shooter at about 8:00 a.m. According to investigators, an argument inside the bar led to the shooting.   2. Reno car enthusiasts believe they are being wrongfully blamed for recent illegal drag races. Reno and Sparks Police Departments have reported a surge in what is known as "sideshows." They are illegal gatherings, usually late at night, where crowds will watch drag racing and car stunts. According to police, the groups organizing these sideshows are not from Reno, and are often aggressive towards law enforcement. (KRNV)
  3. Seven suspects were arrested in relation to kidnapping and burglary charges. According to Sparks police, the seven men were arrested for crimes that occurred on Jul. 1 and Jul. 7 in the 1800 block of I Street. According to police, the suspects and victims in both incidents all knew each other and may have been involved in gang activity. (KOLO)
