🌱 One Injured in Rollover Crash + Washoe Bus Driver Shortage
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Reno.
Hey, neighbors! It's me again, Dominique-Noelle Rafael, your host of the Reno Daily.
First, today's weather:
Partial sunshine. High: 51 Low: 31.
Here are the top three stories in Reno today:
- One person was transported to the hospital with severe injuries after a rollover crash on Somersett Parkway in Reno on Jan. 15. The single-vehicle accident happened around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Reno Fire Department officials say they do not know the extent of the person's injuries yet. (KRNV My News 4)
- The nationwide bus driver shortage is affecting schools across the country, and Washoe County is no exception. The Washoe County School District has since adapted to this shortage. They have not only created incentives to encourage applicants to fill the 70-plus vacant positions, but current drivers have recently started on a new route with fewer locations and neighborhood stops. (KOLO TV)
- A Colorado Springs murder suspect was found and arrested at a Reno hotel this Thursday. 19-year-old Kadin Dyer Blaschke was captured by authorities at a Motel 6 in Reno, while an unidentified 17-year-old male was found and arrested on Saturday. Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in a shooting that killed 13-year-old Marcus Venezio-Hernandez and 15-year-old Nevean Tafoya. (Colorado Springs Gazette)
