- The Pioneer Center for Performing Arts is requiring patrons to provide proof of vaccination or provide a negative Covid-19 test starting Oct. 1. Patrons can show proof of vaccination with a CDC vaccination card or a picture of it on their phone. Options for a negative test include a PCR test taken within 72 hours, an antigen test taken within 24 hours, or a self-administered test. The Cargo Concert Hall at Whitney Peak Hotel is also putting the same COVID-19 protocols in place for its patrons starting Oct. 1. (KOLO)
- A Washoe County Sheriff's Office sergeant is on administrative leave following his Sept. 11 arrest in Reno. The Reno Police Department arrested Levi Smith on suspicion of domestic battery, obstructing and resisting an officer, and being drunk on a road. Sheriff Darin Balaam released a statement that said in part: "The criminal investigation is being handled by the Reno Police Department. Pending any outcomes of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office internal investigation, additional personnel actions may be taken." (KOLO)
- Reno hometown hero, cancer survivor, and philanthropist Danny Heinsohn became an honorary member of the U.S. Airforce Thunderbirds on Friday. (KTVN)
- The Nevada Department of Transportation is announcing street and ramp closures through Sept. 24 as part of continuing Reno Spaghetti Bowl improvements. (KTVN)
