Here are the top stories in Reno today:
- A driver is dead following a crash at McCarran Boulevard and Plumb Lane Wednesday night. The Reno Police Department said a Subaru was hit by a Tahoe and the Subaru driver died in the crash. The Tahoe came to rest in an NV Energy power box, knocking out power in the area and leaving more than 1,900 customers without power. (KOLO)
- The Washoe County Health District is hosting two drive-through flu vaccine events on Oct. 2 and Oct. 9. The free events will be held at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center at 1350 N. Wells Avenue from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Those 6 months and older can receive a flu vaccine in the same vehicle. (KOLO)
- Despite steady population growth in Nevada, some residents are calling it quits and moving elsewhere in recent months. (Carson Now)
- Washoe County District Health Officer Kevin Dick spoke about the seriousness of COVID-19 misinformation in Washoe County at a press conference yesterday morning. (Reno Gazette Journal)
- Brothers walking across America to raise funds for displaced restaurant workers made a stop in Reno yesterday. (KRNV My News 4)
