🌱 Power Outage in NW Reno + Person Shot At Reno Motel

Here are the top 3 stories today in Reno:
- At about 4 p.m. Wednesday, the power went out in Northwest Reno and it didn't return until about midnight. The on-again, off-again outage continued while NV Energy crews looked for the cause, which ended up being a malfunctioning switch. At one time, 7,092 customers were without power. (KOLO)
- A man was arrested in Reno on Thursday after police say he is connected to a deadly shooting in a South Land Park parking lot. Sacramento police say he will be transported back to the city where he's accused of shooting a man to death on Sunday night. (FOX40)
- The Reno Police Department says a person was shot at the Hi Ho Motel on E. 4th Street around 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The person shot is recovering with non-life-threatening injuries. The shooter is cooperating with the police, and it's unclear if any charges will be filed. (KOLO)

- The Reno, NV - Lost Dogs, Cats & Pets' Facebook page shared a photo of a dog named Snoopy who was lost on January 6 in Reno near Whittell Point apartment. The post said the owners have only had the dog for one night, and she doesn't know the area. (Facebook)
- The National Automobile Museum shared that today is Elvis Presley's birthday! The museum has his 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Custom Coupe on display. To celebrate his birthday, the Museum is offering visitors on Saturday a special $8 admission when they mention "Happy Birthday Elvis." (Facebook)
- Nevada Humanities shared they have awarded more than $614,350 in Pandemic Relief and Recovery Grants to 44 organizations across Nevada. The grants are designed to help Nevada's humanities-focused organizations prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic (Facebook)
