- An engineering professor has found a way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by building greener buildings. Ehsan Vahidi has been very busy collecting and analyzing data over the past two years. The key to reducing greenhouse gas emissions is mostly about figuring out where mitigation will have the biggest impact, and that requires a large amount of data. (Nevada Today)
- Two COVID-19 testing sites have temporarily been closed due to staffing shortages. Healthcare workers have been extremely overworked as the omicron variant cases continue to rise. They are asking residents to please be patient as they try to navigate these unprecedented times. (Reno Gazette Journal)
- Proctor R. Hug High School began adopting a distance learning model yesterday due to the increase in staff illnesses. Staff and student absences have been increasing with the rise in COVID cases. The principal, Cristina Oronoz, released an important message to the parents and guardians of the students that went into detail about how the process will work. (KRNV My News 4)

- The Reno Police Department wants to congratulate their K9, Niko, on his recent retirement! Niko has worked with many different units during his time with the Reno Police Department. Everyone is wishing him a happy and relaxing retirement. (Facebook)
- The University of Nevada wants everyone to be aware of their health resources. Currently, the Student Health Center is providing all students, faculty, and staff with free COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters. You can call to make an appointment or do a walk-in! (Instagram)
