Here are the top three stories in Reno today:
- Thanks to an organ, eye, and tissue donation, a local 10–year-old will be able to run the bases on May 6 at Greater Nevada Field. Victor Salazar will run the bases during the Reno Aces' Home Run for Life. The event is sponsored by Donor Network West and brings awareness to the organ donation community. (Carson Now)
- The Northern Nevada Barber Academy serves the community and changes lives. Last November, Gregory Fair opened his barber school in Sparks because there were no local options for training future barbers. Since its opening, the Northern Nevada Barber Academy has been a success with many students using the training to change careers. (KOLO)
- As of May 2, a Reno teacher arrested on multiple counts of sexual assault with a minor is out on bail. The alleged sexual assault occurred when Jose Montelongo-Flores, 54, was a teacher at Vaughn Middle School. (KRNV)
